Overview
iHobnob is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and aims to provide safe, secure use. This Statement describes the data collection and use privacy policies and practices that apply to all aspects of our Web site. When you use the iHobnob Web site, you consent to the policies and practices described here.

Please consult the privacy policies of other Web sites you link to from iHobnob as to how they collect, use and share your information. iHobnob is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other Web sites to which you choose to link from the iHobnob Web site. This Privacy Statement applies solely to the information we collect on the iHobnob Web site.

Collection and Retention of Information
iHobnob may request you to provide personal information, including your name, address, email address, telephone number, credit card number, contact information, billing information and any other information from which your identity is discernible. IHobnob also may collect demographic information that is not unique to you such as your ZIP code, age, preferences, gender, interests and favorites. We may collect a combination of the two types of information. The iHobnob Web site collects personal and demographic data so that you can open an iHobnob account, sign up to use a service, post a career profile, or purchase a membership.

We may gather certain information about your use of our site, such as what areas you visit; what services you access or information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses and other similar data.

We may sometimes ask you to provide lifestyle, cultural, preferential, or passtime information about yourself, but it is optional to furnish such information. When you submit such information, you allow us to use that information in accordance with the policies and practices described in this Statement. For example, such information may be used for sending you email or other communications about particular opportunities, products, or services.

We remind you that when you enter any of your personal information in chat room, forums etc. of iHobnob, such information may be used by others over whom iHobnob has no control. We are not responsible for third parties use of information you provide in public areas of iHobnob.

We expect you to use iHobnob as a long-term career center. Therefore, we permanently store all of the information we gather about you indefinitely in an effort to make your repeat use more effective. You can change your MyiHobnob account and profile at any time. Moreover, you can delete your profile or close your MyiHobnob account at any time, but we will maintain an archival copy which is not accessible on the Internet.

Use of Information by iHobnob
Although your data will be stored and processed in the United States, if you access the iHobnob Web site outside the United States, your usage of that site constitutes consent to the transfer of your data out of your country and to the United States.

We use iHobnob Web site information about you, whether personal, demographic, collective or technical to maximize your benefits as a participant of iHobnob, and to offer you the best products and services of iHobnob or its affiliated companies, or to solicit your opinion.

We may use your contact information in order to send you email or other communications regarding updates at the iHobnob site or new iHobnob opportunities. At the time of registration for MyiHobnob, we invite you to elect to receive additional promotional communications including, but not limited to, free informational newsletters from iHobnob relating to topics that may be of special interest to you, such as career management advice and industry news.

If you submit feedback to us, it becomes our property and we can use such feedback (such as success stories) for marketing purposes.

Disclosure of Information to Others
We do not disclose to third parties your personal and demographic information or information about your use of the iHobnob Web site (such as the areas you visit or the services you access), except as set forth in the following:
  1. To companies and individuals whom we engage to perform functions on our behalf. Examples may include developing systems, hosting our Web servers, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. We will give such companies and individuals access to your personal information as necessary to perform their functions. They are not permitted to share that information with any other third party.
  2. To third parties if you have consented to such disclosure, such as third parties such as employers, recruiters, data aggregators, marketers or others for the purpose of sending you email or otherwise communicating with you. We may use data we have about you (such as the interests and preferences you have expressed) to determine whether you might be interested in the products or services of a particular third-party
  3. To the Kinsa Group, the consulting division of iHobnob and owners of the iHobnob Web site. Kinsa Group follows the Privacy rules of this Statement. This allows members of iHobnob to receive additional opportunities, products, and services that are not offered through the iHobnob Web site.
  4. To government entities if required by law or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of iHobnob or its affiliated companies; (c) prevent a crime or protect national security; or (d) protect the personal safety of users or the public.
  5. To a third party who acquires all or a substantial portion of iHobnob’s business, whether such acquisition is by way of merger, consolidation or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets. In addition, in the event iHobnob becomes the subject of a bankruptcy proceeding, whether voluntary or involuntary, iHobnob or its trustee in bankruptcy may sell, license or otherwise dispose of such information in a transaction approved by the bankruptcy court.

So that they may understand how visitors use the iHobnob site, we may share anonymous summary information with third parties.

Co-branding companies may use information from their co-branded page or may own or co-own that information (such as that of a web seminar co-sponsored by iHobnob and another company), and in that instance, the use of such information by the other company may be subject to the privacy policy of that company and, in any event, iHobnob is not responsible for that company's use of your personal or demographic information.

Some employers are required by law to gather information on age, gender or race from job applicants for reporting and record keeping requirements. This information will be used by employers only in accordance with applicable law and will not be used in making any employment decisions. All information provided will be kept separate from your expression of interest in any job opportunity. It is entirely optional to provide this information and you will not be subject to any adverse action or treatment if you choose not to provide this information.

Career Profiles
Since iHobnob is a career network site, we give you the choice of putting your career profile in our database in two ways:
  1. You can store your career profile in our database anonymously, or blinded, allowing your profile to be searchable without your identity and enabling you to use an anonymous version to apply for a job online. Employers and recruiters will not have access to search an identified version through our profile database, unless you permit them.
  2. You can allow your profile to be identified and searchable, and all parties with access to our searchable profile database (or copies thereof) will have access to your identified profile.

We attempt to confine access to our searchable profile database (or copies thereof) to paying iHobnob members (employers, recruiters, hiring managers, headhunters, and human resource professionals) as well as law enforcement and national security agencies. However, if unauthorized parties gain access to this database, we are not responsible for the use made of profiles by such third parties. You may remove your profile from our searchable database at any time. However, employers, recruiters and others who have paid for access to that database, as well as parties who have otherwise gained access to the database, may have retained a copy of your profile. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of profiles by unauthorized parties.
